MoFuse CEO Named Mobile Woman to Watch

Looking forward to the new year, we’re pleased to share that our CEO, Annette Tonti, was named as one of the 2011 Mobile Woman to Watch, by Mobile Marketer.  This list “celebrates the smart women who are expected to make a difference in mobile advertising, marketing, media and commerce in 2011.”

We hope you’ll agree that this is a great way to begin a new year!

A Note On Credit Cards

If you are having troubles entering a new credit card that you know to be active and valid, please send us a message through support, or to sales@mofuse.com, so that we may help you with processing.

We have very recently changed credit card processing services, and are experiencing some issues with the new provider in processing cards from some banks.

Please know that this is a temporary issue, and one which we hope will be resolved shortly.

Thank you for your patience.

Tracking Click to Call Events

Tracking Click-to-Call actions is possible with a little help from Google, and Advanced Support from the MoFuse Services team.

This essentially works by setting up a Google Analytics tag for an onclick event and adding it to the Click to Call button on the mobile site. One important caveat: this method only records events on devices that can handle Javascript.

How to Do This:

  1. Set up a tag for an “event” in your Google Analytics account.
  2. Submit a new Support Request to MoFuse. Include your Google Analytics event tag, your mobile site URL, and indicate the exact Click to Call element you intend to track.

With this information, the MoFuse Services team will install the tag for your manually. Given the advanced support involved, there may be additional fees involved.

Scheduled Maintenance

MoFuse will undergo scheduled maintenance tonight beginning at 11:00pm Eastern Time until approximately 11:30pm Eastern Time.

During this time the MoFuse user dashboard and mobile sites might be unavailable.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email support@mofuse.com.

Intermittent Platform Issues

We are experiencing intermittent issues with the platform due to a database upgrade. We are working diligently to resolve all issues immediately.

Help People Find Your Mobile Site: Lesson 1

People are using  Search as a primary way to get to your mobile web site.

You can help users to find your mobile site by claiming it on the major search engines.  Since Google is far and away the largest search engine in terms of market share, the first step to promoting your mobile website is to sign up for Google Webmaster Tools if you haven’t already. Simply go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/ and either sign in or register.

Then, you’ll want to submit your mobile URL to Google so that your site can get indexed.

To do this, visit the following page: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl.

Keep in mind that it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks, on average, for your mobile site to index in Google. By claiming your site on Google, you will be on your way to making sure that mobile ’searchers’ find your mobile site.

  • Note that Google will not make any guarantees on whether or not your site gets indexed

Adding Videos is Easy!

It’s easy to add videos to your mobile site.

All you need to do is grab the URL for the video, and insert the video URL to your MoFuse site in the appropriate field of an Image element or a content page or block.

Make sure you grab the correct link for your video:  On YouTube, for example, click “Share” to grab the URL of the video you want to add to your mobile site.  (Don’t use the URL for entire YouTube web page.)

You can even add a YouTube channel to your mobile site in the same way. To see an example of this in action, visit the mobile site of Martha’s Vineyard Radio: http://mvyradio.prohost.mobi

The great thing about using YouTube is not just that it is free, but YouTube also will detect mobile visitors accessing your video and display the mobile version for their device.

Jump! It’s a New Site Feature

Jump! It’s a New Site Feature

Do you have many pages on your site? If so, you might want to add a Jump Menu.

By adding this new feature to your site, your mobile site visitors can easily navigate, or jump, to pages of the mobile site, using a drop down Jump Menu.

This is a great option if you have a lot of pages on the site, or specific content like lead gen forms that you want your users to easily get to, without having to scroll through layers of text and links.

Adding a Jump Menu to your site is easy! Just like our Site Layout tool, you can drag-and-drop elements that you want to place in the Jump Menu from the left to the right column. Users also have the option of changing the color scheme and adding a search box.

This feature is a natural fit for anyone with a deep mobile site. Try and tell us what you think!
